Skeleton Marionette: 5-Month Course

About the Workshop

Build your own breakaway skeleton marionette from scratch! Bring life (death?) to blocks of wood as you go through the whole process, from designing your unique skeleton to making a technical drawing, carving and stringing of this ever-popular puppet with bones that fly apart. You will meet at live Zoom sessions every two weeks where you will learn the entire process with the guidance of Mirek Trejtnar, expert puppet designer, and other students. You will get regular consultations at this highly individualized course. The course will be divided into four sections: design, cutting the blocks, carving and assembly. WORKSHOP FEE The price is 650 Euro. Payment can be made upon acceptance to the workshop. TOOLS Students should have a minimum of 5 chisels and basic tools which should be purchased in advance. SCHEDULE We will meet every other week, so you have time to complete tasks between sessions. There are a total of 10 sessions (each session will be 2 hours) which meet on Zoom from 5-7 p.m. Central European Time. All sessions will be recorded in case someone is not able to attend live. All of the sessions take place from 5-7 p.m. Central European Time (11-1 p.m. EST) on Sundays: Oct 8, Oct 22, Nov 5, Nov 19, Dec 3, Dec 17, Jan 7, Jan 21, Feb 4, Feb 18 FOR WHOM IS THE WORKSHOP INTENDED? CANCELATION POLICY The fee is nonrefundable. If you cancel a more than 1 month before the start of the workshop, you can transfer the fee to another PIP workshop ; you will be charged a 200 Euro fee and you will be charged for the price of the new workshop if the price changes. If for any reason PIP needs to cancel the course, you will get a full refund minus the bank transfer fees.
